Support PG Services
- Support essential services for problem gamblers and their families including:
- the Commonwealth of Virginia’s mandated 1-888 532-3500 Problem Gambling Helpline service, assisting callers throughout the state connect with available gambling treatment programs and resources via calls, text and online chat and referral and follow-up support.
- Clinical training to increase the capacity of providers to recognize and serve problem gamblers.
Promote Responsible Gambling
- Support responsible gambling practices to help protect consumers from any potential harm from gambling.
- Working with the gambling industry to provide responsible gaming practices to operators and stakeholders.
Enhance Public Awareness
- Support prevention and awareness activities about problem gambling and youth gambling, such as:
- Public awareness materials, information, and education to community members and key professionals in the lay community who may regularly encounter individuals at risk for problem gambling.
Advocate for the field
- Encourage the application of quality practices and accessible information to improve prevention, intervention and treatment strategies.
